Robert Mundell, Nobel Laureate in Economics 1999, was the key note speaker of the 4th international meeting entitled “Europe’s Future: a Strong Economy with a Weak Currency?” promoted by the I.S.E.O. Institute.

Mundell, who won the Prize  “for his analysis of monetary and fiscal policy under different exchange rate regimes and his analysis of optimum currency areas”, was the author of the first plans for a common currency in Europe.

The speaker, who has been Professor of Economics at Columbia University in New York since 1974, was interviewed by Giorgio La Malfa.
