The second conference promoted by the I.S.E.O. Institute took place on the 11th and 12th September 1999. Right in the same place where Franco Modigliani launched it one year before, most of the influential economists gathered to discuss the impact of Modigliani’s “Manifesto on Unemployment”. The two days meeting, held at the ancient abbey of Rodengo Saiano (Brescia), featured two Nobel Laureates, two Italian ministries, government officials, international professors, economists and further well known speakers. President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi sent a welcome remark (downloadable here below), which was read at the beginning of the meeting.
