Andrea Ichino
European University Institute of Fiesole
David Card (Nobel Laureate in Economics 2021), Andrea Ichino (European University Institute of Fiesole), and Maria De Paola (University of Calabria, INPS) were the three main speakers of the 55th international conference promoted by the I.S.E.O. Institute together with the Faculty of Economics of the University of Brescia.
The public meeting represented the 55th seminar organized in memory of Franco Modigliani, founder of the I.S.E.O. Institute, and it was entitled “THE LABOUR MARKET TODAY. Wages, immigration, education: inside the world of labour, between inequalities and opportunities”.
The conference attempted to explore some of the main mechanisms influencing the labour market today, in Italy and beyond. Highly topical economic and social issues – such as the minimum wage or access to university education – were addressed by proposing results of international studies and research of great interest and impact on people’s lives.
The international conference was introduced by professor Raffaele Miniaci (University of Brescia) right after the institutional greetings given by the rector Francesco Castelli and the deputy chairman of the I.S.E.O. Institute Riccardo Venchiarutti. The meeting was attended by nearly 200 delegates, among academics, postgraduate students, entrepreneurs, journalists and the I.S.E.O. Summer School 2023 participants, coming from all over the world.
If you wish to have a look at the best images taken by our photographer Federico Sbardolini you can find them in our photo-gallery.
All the articles published after the conference are uploaded in the Press area.

The conference has been promoted with the support of several sponsors. The I.S.E.O. Institute is very grateful and really appreciates all the sponsors who are listed in the image here below.
